There are two sorts of names on your Yichus Tree: verified and unverified. Furthermore, there is a difference between regular people and those who are considered gedolim, tzaddikim and well-known personalities.

Bnei Bonim possesses a database of names that are all thoroughly vetted, researched and verified by Mechon Yochsin and other respected figures in this field. Our experts also comb through the names and data in our own system to select those that are reliably confirmed to be accurate.

To cover the increased costs incurred by the research work.

It should be noted though that unverified names are generally accurate as well, but due to the historical inaccuracies in some of the earlier yichus archives, it is well worth it to ensure that all information is verified.

No. It will only be considered verified for your own family tree, but not for others, unless we have personally verified it.

Even names that are verified may see their status change when new facts or information become available that indicate some uncertainty. Please review our policy page for more on this.
Important: once a name is verified and paid for, we are unable to offer refunds later on.

Every Yichus Chart has one main member from where the chart begins. On the Bnei Banim platform, this person is always referred to as #1. All the ancestors above will be referred to as 2A, 3A and so on.

All the children and grandchildren from the main individual will appear under his name as 2B, 3B etc.

With each name, the system asks for additional information about the person.

When you wish to add a spouse, you will be prompted to enter their relationship. Similarly, when adding a child, the system will ask for the other parent’s name.

As soon as another family member is added, the system will display it on the screen.

The system will begin searching through your entire chart and display the names entered twice. On the spot where the second name was removed, there will be a mark directing viewers to the correct branch. This will greatly help keep the tree neat and organized.

After you combine the two names, the platform will automatically recalibrate the yichus based on the newfound clarity.

Please check for accuracy before combining two names. If you must switch things back, you can go back and undo it under the Changes History option.
